What is confirmation you might be asking? Confirmation is a pastoral rite in the Anglican Church. It is defined in the Book of Common Prayer as "a mature public affirmation of faith and commitments to the responsibilities of Baptism." During confirmation, the youth receive the laying on of hands by the bishop, thereby affirming their own need for Christ and a visible connection to His broader Body, the Church.
Confirmation begins September 26. We will have 6 weeks of classes. Students who attend confirmation will be with the youth group for dinner and a game and then will go to their confirmation class. Classes will last 6 weeks and those who are in 7th grade and up are welcome to attend. The confirmation service will take place in November. Please let me know if your child plans to attend.
